Cap Maritime is a new project from Marc Kent, the chief winemaker from Boekenhoutskloof. He has always considered the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley one of the most exciting places to grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in South Africa. Cap Maritime, alongside the other Boekenhoutskloof brands, captures the essence of its terroir of origin while representing the style of wine to which Marc Kent aspires. He is also the driving force behind this dynamic farm. A maverick spirit, he is unafraid to experiment with the unconventional, but his principal commitment is to quality on every level and in every detail. The winemaker of Cap Maritime is actually Godfried Mocke, a key member of the dream team at Boekenhoutskloof.

Cap Maritime sits perched on top of a ridge separating the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde appellation from the Valley, one of the most exciting places to grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in South Africa.

The Cap Maritime Chardonnay is an absolute joy! It is beautifully mineral with that lovely wet stones, sensation as it runs over the tongue. The the stone fruit and citrus comes in with clarity. The wines finsishes with floral notes and a hint of French oak. Every mouthful is layered with complex fruit, floral notes and marvellous texure. This wine is drinking wonderfully, but would also last in your cellar, if you can bare to leave it, for 3 years or so.

Inviting array of intense citrus and gentle white fruit notes with an underlying clove, nutmeg and ginger from gentle oak.
